Although it doesn't open officialy until September 5th,
plēb, the new Urban Winery of Asheville, is having a
Grand Opening & NC Wine Month Kickoff Celebration this Saturday the 1st, with a day of music, food, activities, and......wine!!
What is an
Urban Winery, you might be asking? Of course most of us have heard the term "
farm to table" a million times used to describe a certain kind of cuisine or restaurant. Well, plēb promises to bring Asheville a "grapes to wine" experience by showcasing North Carolina "high country and east coast grapes by sourcing from a variety of local farms, each of which produce a unique agricultural product that allows for high quality local wines with distinct flavor profiles."
The festivities go from 12pm - 10pm on 289 Lyman Street, and here's a rundown from their press release of what you can expect >>
