Of course the Aloft Hotel's focus is their out-of-town guests. But during their late summer/early fall poolside party series, Live@Aloft, they've invited the community to come on out to enjoy local music, to eat and drink, and support local nonprofits, all while taking in one of the most spectacular mountain views downtown has to offer.  This Sunday, Hank West & The Somkin' Hots will play their "Art-Rock-House-Exotica" on the rooftop Air Level, open to all from 4-8pm —which of course is some prime sunset watching time. There will be small bites and a cash bar, Gaelic Ale on tap from Highland Brewing, and you can even bring your best furry friend, as the hotel is pet-friendly. Although it's a free event, donations are suggested with proceeds going to Homeward Bound of WNC, an Asheville nonprofit that works to end chronic homelessness. The final Live@Aloft event is set for October 26 and will benefit Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue. For more information, check out their Facebook event page.
