Asheville will have a chance to see a music legend on Monday evening at
The Orange Peel.
Peter Hook, of
Joy Division and
New Order fame, will play a show with his band
The Light. They will be performing all of Joy Division's 1988 album
Substance in its entirety. This unique experience is exciting for Joy Division fans and eighties music lovers alike.
Starting in 2010, bassist Peter Hook decided to honor his first band and play two of Joy Division's masterful albums
Unknown Pleasures and
Closer in their entirety at the Factory club in Manchester. The event quickly sold out and garnered worldwide press, and Hook decided to take the show on the road.
Joy Division's 1988 album
Substance was a collection of singles that spanned the band's short lived career. It was the first release since the 1982 compilation album
Still. Their highly influential and unique sound took the music world by storm and created a whole new post-punk culture, and now Asheville can witness the magic in person.
