This Saturday at Buxton Hall BBQ,
Asheville FM (103.3, WSFM-LP) will host their
Fall Fund Drive Dance Party and Costume Contest. Last year's event was such a wild success that Buxton ran out of alcohol by the night's end (don't worry, they got extra this time around). If precedent is any indicator, this will be the place to be on Saturday night. Entry is $6, and all proceeds go to benefit 103.3, Asheville's community radio station.
The evening kicks off at 10 pm and runs until the wee hours with food and drink in abundance from Buxton Hall. Eat a pork BBQ sandwich and sip a craft cocktail as you dance to live music from
the Krektones, followed by DJ sets from
Asheville FM DJs Devyn Marzuola, Cousin TL, Greg Cartwright, and DJ Kutzu.
There will be a costume contest, so come in your best duds. The event kicks off the radio station's Fall Fund Drive. Upcoming Fund Drive events include a special screening of
Pump Up the Volume (happening at
Grail Moviehouse on November 2nd at 7:15) and a Wrap Party and Karaoke Night, which will be held at the Double Crown on November 4th beginning at 10 pm.
The radio station's goal is to raise a minimum of $11,000 to keep things rolling smoothly. You're invited to stop by the West Asheville studio to have coffee or lunch, check out the space, meet the DJs, and even buy equipment at "rock bottom prices." You can also make a donation
here.
Buxton Hall BBQ is at 32 Banks Ave. on Asheville's South Slope.
